Precautions for wire rope before use:
1. It is forbidden to use new steel wire rope directly at high speed and heavy load: the new steel wire rope should not be used directly at high speed and heavy load immediately, but should be operated at low speed and medium load for a period of time to make the new rope adapt to the use state, and then gradually increase the running speed and lifting load of the steel wire rope, that is, the new steel wire rope must go through the initial running in stage before high speed and heavy load operation.Wire Rope Lanyards
2. It is forbidden to skip the groove of the steel wire rope. When the steel wire rope is used with the pulley, attention must be paid to prevent the steel wire rope from jumping out of the groove. If the steel wire rope is still used after falling off the wheel groove, it will produce extrusion deformation, kink, broken wire and strand, which will seriously shorten the service life of the steel wire rope. If the steel wire rope is broken, it will often bring disastrous consequences.
3. It is strictly forbidden to extrude and deform the steel wire rope: the steel wire rope shall not be strongly extruded during use to avoid deformation of the steel wire rope, resulting in early wire breakage (at this time, martensite, a brittle layer structure, will appear on the surface of the steel wire), strand breakage or even rope breakage, which significantly reduces the service life of the steel wire rope and endangers the operation safety.
4. It is strictly forbidden to rub the steel wire rope with other objects when it is running at high speed: when the steel wire rope is running at high speed, it shall be prevented from rubbing with other objects outside the non matching wheel groove. At high speed, the instantaneous friction heat generated when the steel wire rope and these objects run together can lead to the appearance of martensitic structure on the surface of the steel wire. Although this change in structure can not be identified by the naked eye, it is the main reason for the early fracture of the steel wire.
5. Running speed: the lower the running speed is, the less the damage of the steel wire rope will be. With the acceleration of running speed, the damage of steel wire rope increases correspondingly. For this reason, it is necessary to avoid sharp changes in speed during operation, sudden and violent loading and severe braking, so as to reduce the damage of steel wire rope. The service life of steel wire rope is much longer under the maximum load of medium operation speed than under the medium load of high-speed operation.
6. It is strictly forbidden to subject the steel wire rope to severe impact and vibration: during the use of the steel wire rope, if the running speed changes rapidly frequently, it will cause impact load. Although each impact is only momentary loading, it implies great harm. When the impact load exceeds the allowable working stress of the steel wire rope, the rope will be broken. Even if the impact load does not necessarily lead to the fracture of the steel wire rope, the service life of the steel wire rope will be seriously shortened by multiple impacts. For the steel wire rope that has been used for a period of time, compared with the new rope, due to the small flexibility, the resistance will be lower.
